Marvel’s the Avengers: The Infinity War

Warning: Spoiler alert ahead!!

On Friday, April 27, 2018, Marvel released another movie in theatres. The Infinity War is a movie which contains all of the well-known Marvel characters, not just the ones who starred in the previous Avengers movies. The movie includes heroes such as The Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Spiderman and the heroes from Guardians of the Galaxy with the exception of Hawkeye and the Ant Man. I would highly recommend watching all of the movies of those who star in The Infinity War so when you watch the movie, you won’t feel like you’re missing out on any information.

Something I love about Stan Lee, the creator of the Marvel series, is that he connected each and every story to each other. All of the movies and stories have minisente details that connect them to each other, like a common antagonist. This made writing the story for The Infinity War much easier. The movie was very action packed and is bound to make you shed a tear, possibly more.  During the course of this movie, it is very crucial to pay attention to every single detail of every event that occurs.

From the beginning to the end, this movie will take you by surprise. Just when you think things are going the way you want them to, it ends and leaves you breathless. It is hands down the most intense, complicated Marvel movie that has been released to date. The movie had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. It was filled with surprises, and will leave you with so many questions. Considering this movie has two parts, the movie left off with a gigantic cliffhanger.

The movie picks up where Thor: Ragnarok ends. Thor and Loki are on a spaceship in which Thanos has taken over and killed the last of the Asgardians. In this scene, Thanos, the antagonist in the movie, takes his first infinity stone and gets started on his journey killing Loki and leaving Thor to die. The heroes from the past Avenger movies: Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and The Amazing Spider-Man have to protect the universe from an evil villain named Thanos. He journeys from planet to planet in search of each of the remaining infinity stones fighting all of those who stand in his way.

The six stones Thanos journeys to collect are the Space Stone, the Mind Stone, the Reality Stone, the Power Stone, the Time Stone, and the Soul Stone. The Space Stone is used to travel through time, this will give Thanos the power and ability to be anywhere he wants, anytime he wants to be there. The Mind Stone allows the person in possession of it to control the minds of whomever he or she wishes. The Reality Stone allows its owner to change reality and make those around it see whatever the owner wishes. It has the potential to transform the entire universe.

The Power Stone has the power to provide the keeper with superhuman strength, the ability to shoot beams of purple destruction, and possibly wipe out all organic life from a planet just by touching the surface. The Time Stone controls all of time. The holder has the power to stop time, and even go back in time to try and change the past. Finally, the Soul Stone provides the power to collect one’s soul and store it. With all of these stones combined, Thanos will hold the capability to control and destroy the universe as we know it.

In order to receive the soul stone, he has to kill someone who he loves. This means he has to kill his daughter, Gamora, who is one of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Thanos has been built up little by little in many of the Marvel movies, and now he is here to take what he really wants. The heroes are forced to protect the universe from Thanos as he strives to collect all six infinity stones to harness their power. He intends to use the power from the stones to wipe out half of the Galaxy’s population. To Thanos, he thought this was the only way to spread balance for all across the galaxy.

Thanos believes that all of the planets are overpopulated and the only way to end this hardship and bring a balance to that world is to kill half of its population. Thanos believes this can give each planet and its surviving people, a fresh start.  In the end, completes his quest to collect the stones and wipe out half of the population, including some of the heroes. Luckily for the fans, this is not the end of the storyline. The second part of this movie will be in theaters in May of 2019.
