13 Reasons Why

The first season of 13 Reasons Why came out on Netflix this past year. After only a day, the show received many views from all audiences. The show is based on the book 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher, a story that takes you through the life of a high school girl named Hannah Baker. Hannah committed suicide and left behind thirteen tapes to give to the people in her life who she felt took part in her decision to kill herself. Each episode explains one of the reasons and describes one person whom the tapes were left to. There are two sides to each tape, and each tape tells a story. If you receive the tapes, you must listen to all of them and then pass them onto the next person on the tape.

This show shares with the viewers the impact that the people around us can have and how strongly it can affect us. The things that take place in the lives of high school students at home or at are all different. However, when even the small things start to build up, they can take over your life. It can affect your school work and social life and it can lead to depression, like the main character Hannah Baker had. When entering high school, if you are unaware of the effects people can have on you, or you can have on people, I think this is a good show for you to watch. It not only is a good watch, but it can help you better understand your peers and even your friends.
