Getting to know the new staff of Wakefield

Q1: Where did you attend college?

I went to UNC Charlotte as a freshman, initially as a dance major, and later transferred to Meredith for home education.

Q2: What subject do you teach?

I teach family consumerism, Foods 1, and Foods 2 Enterprise. They are very fun classes.

Q3: As a child, what was your dream job?

I always wanted to be a teacher. Both of my parents were teachers and after school I used to pretend I was teaching imaginary students in my mom’s classroom.

Q4: What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is chocolate; I love sweets!

Q5: If you won the lottery, what would you do with it?

If I won the lottery, I would buy a beach house, save some of it, and give to people in need.

Q6: What is your favorite activity outside of teaching?

Outside of school, I like spending time with my husband, traveling abroad, shopping, and teaching dance. It is a great past time for me.

Q7: What superpower would you want?

My super power would be flight or invisibility.

Q1: Where did you attend college?

I attended NC State! Go Pack!

Q2: What subject do you teach?

I teach math at the ninth grade center.

Q3: When you were little, what was your dream job?

I always wanted to be a vet. I love animals.

Q4: What is your favorite food?

I LOVE cheeseburgers!

Q5: If you won the lottery, what would you do with it?

I would pay off all of my student loans, buy things I don’t need, and travel to places I’ve never been. I would definitely continue teaching because I’m pretty happy where I am at in life right now.

Q6: What is your favorite activity outside of teaching?

I like to take my dogs to the dog park on a regular basis.


New-Teachers-2Ms. Land:

Q1: Where did you attend college?

I went to NC State straight out of high school.

Q2: When you were little what was your dream job?

I had a lot of career aspirations as a child, including being a writer and doctor.

Q3: What is your favorite food?

I absolutely adore chocolate.

Q4: If you won the lottery, what would you do with it?

I would go on a trip around the world, start my own coffee shop, and create a scholarship fund.

Q1: Where did you attend college?

I went to ECU for college. I actually graduated from Wakefield High School in 2011.

Q2: What subject do you teach?

I majored at ECU in special education.

Q3: When you were little, what was your dream job?

I always wanted to be a vet, but then I realized how hard it was.

Q4: What is your favorite food?

I don’t really have a favorite food, but I love Mountain Dew.

Q5: If you won the lottery, what would you do with it?

I would give money back to my parents for college and buy a beach house in the Bahamas.

Q6: What superpower would you want?

I would want to read minds, even though it could be dangerous.

Q1: Where did you attend college?

I went to ECU as an undergrad and am currently at A&T getting my master’s degree.

Q2: What subject do you teach?

I teach multimedia and business.

Q3: When you were little, what was your dream job?

I wanted to be a nurse, believe it or not. I like helping people.

Q4: If you won the lottery what would you do with it?

I would create a home for homeless women and children and then plan a trip to London.

Q5: What is your favorite activity outside of teaching?

Sewing clothes and making things is what I really enjoy doing in my free time.
