DIY: Lemon- buttermilk pound cake

Do you ever want to make a sweat treat for a friend but don’t have much skill? If so then this is the recipe for you! this is a wonderful lemon light cake that will keep your mouth watering.

I will be making lemon butter cake  This took me at most 20 mins to put together and 60 mins to bake.

First Step

Gather all ingredients. including…


  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 butter, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  • 2 cups of confectioners sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

also preheat your oven to 350


Step Two

Gather utensils. Including…

  • electric mixer
  • 2 big bowls
  • lemon squeezer
  • 1/2 cup
  • 1/4 cup
  • 1/2 tablespoon
  • 1/2 teaspoon
  • bunt pan








Step Three

Sift all dry ingredients.

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour









Step Four

Beat 2 1/2 cup white sugar and 1 1/2 butter together till light and fluffy, about 10 mins. beat egg one at a time in the butter mixture.











Step Five

when all eggs are mixed in, add about 1/3 of the dry mixture and mix throughly well. add 1/2 of the butter milk and mix well,  repeat this process until all of the ingredients are gone. add lemon extract and mix it in.









Step Six

Butter your bunt pan and flour it doesn’t stick. Continue by pouring  your mixture into the pan.











Step Seven

Reduce your ovens temperature to 325. put your pan into the oven for about 60 mins and then check on it with a toothpick.

For the glaze beat all of the ingredients together until it is a good texture for a glaze.









Final step

Pour glaze over top evenly. Make sure to keep it cool.
