Pop into Wakefield’s horticulture fall ‘pop up’ sale

Only happening this week, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wakefield High School’s horticulture classes are holding a pop-up fall plant sale. Located on the left side of the school, outside of the greenhouse, prospective customers can find that the class has put in a lot of care to ensure that these plants are worthy of love.

“We tend to buy the seeds, take care of them, pot and repot and then we sell them,” sophomore Amaya Thrasher said.

Plant prices are on the lower end, with pansies being the cheapest at $0.50 and succulents being the most expensive at $5. Other flowers being sold include snapdragons, calendulas, dianthuses and more. With a multitude of options to pick from – and reasonable prices – you are sure to find your next plant baby.

“Figure out what [plants] are safe for pets if you have them,” a sophomore in the class said. “Start with succulents first, then move on to house plants.”
