Wakefield students and teachers dish out their most memorable stories
Students and teachers alike all have their fair share of stories to tell. We all have experience other people may or may not know. Whether we are young or old, everyone has new stories to tell each day. Stories can be extremely funny, embarrassing, or even awkward. Some Wakefield students as well as teachers are willing to share their stories with you.
Samuel Bellezza, Special Programs
I was probably about fifteen years old and I was at a boarding school in New Hampshire. We lived in a dormitory and it was like going to college except you’re in high school. I remember I was sitting on the steps of my dormitory with a bunch of other punk rock kids. We had the worst dorm in the whole school, it was kind of gross. People never came to view our dormitory. Prospective students would always go to the nice dorms like where the seniors lived. So I’m sitting there one day on the front steps, and this guy comes up and he was really short and bald. He was with this lady who looked like a hippie. I think she was his daughter but I couldn’t tell because he was kind of old. They had this son, or other kid with them and he looks terrible. So he starts talking to us and I’m like, alright. Here’s our dorm, it’s really gross, here’s the inside, like don’t send your kid to school here, it’s terrible. They get into this rusty brown Subaru. Everybody was making fun of me the whole because it was really embarrassing. It turned out that guy was Paul Simon and his wife was Edie Brickell. He was a super famous singer. We were all punk rock kids and had no idea who he was.

This was in seventh grade and I still think it’s funny. I was in the mountains on a trip. So we were on a bike trail and I was wearing baggy gym shorts. We stopped at a restaurant and we put our bikes in a bike rack. We ate and afterwards we were leaving and we went outside to the back rack. My friend was holding a sweet tea in one hand and she was trying to get her bike out with her other hand. I was in between the bikes and I was trying to get mine out too but she had her hands full so the bike fell. The bike grabbed my shorts and pulled it down to the ground and there was a couple right there next to us, getting their bikes out. So they were laughing at me and I was standing there for a second and I looked down and my shorts are at my ankles. All I had was my underwear. I was laughing so hard I cried. I just pulled them up and just started laughing and they were just laughing. Get this, the entire restaurant with the whole entire wall facing us was windows. So everyone saw.
There was also this one time when I watered a fake plant… for a year.

I was in seventh grade and I was in dance. We were going to record that day what dances we were going to do. We were rehearsing to record. So my partner was really short and right in the middle of the dance, she was supposed to kick over my head and when I bent over, instead of kicking over me, she kicked me in the butt. I fell over and it was recorded. I had to get back up and pretend like nothing happened. And it was horrible, because when I went to go ask if I can redo it. My teacher went, “No, that was hilarious. You can’t redo it.” I was like, great. So she recorded the whole thing and it was horrible. I probably should’ve been the one to kick over her head instead.

So I was at the Mistletoe Market. I was with my two friends, Anthony and Nick. We went to this little shop, I don’t remember what it was called, but I was going to buy something. At the time, I was holding Anthony’s jacket. I threw the jacket back to Anthony thinking he was standing behind me. Instead I threw it back at the owner of the shop. Anthony and Nick had left me. And I was like “Oh my god, I threw it at the wrong person.”
Darrain Fate, Junior
During my sophomore year, I was in theater. I was doing High School Musical and there was this part where we were talking about buttons on the costumes. I had a tux on, but my button was completely up and you just saw my belly button the entire time. So every time I would say button, everyone would laugh. I didn’t realize until afterwards that they were talking about my belly button.
Anthony DeSantis, Junior
I was in theater in seventh grade and we were doing a play. The entire time, my fly was down but no one told me. But everyone was laughing at me. Eventually someone was like “Your fly’s down.” I pulled my fly up and walked out the classroom and just stood outside for a bit.

I swim competitively and we were at a meet. We wear these really tight swim trunks called trousers. One time I was in a competition and the trousers fell off. I finished, but getting out of the pool was a bit hard to explain.
