On Feb. 9, Wakefield High School’s librarian Joyce Deaton kicked off a Valentine’s Day Kahoot game. This fun game tests your knowledge of romances in young and nostalgic novels. If you missed out last Friday, she will be hosting it on Monday and Wednesday during Pack Time this week.
The title of this Kahoot game is called “Epic Romance Kahoot.” It entails 24 questions about epic literary romance from classic to contemporary fiction. That also includes screen and TV adaptations. Many include famous authors such as Stephanie Meyer, Suzanne Collins and John Green. She also has some LGBTQ+ and African American-focused questions. Along with the game, the librarian has laid out numerous books for students to pick up if interested in a blind date with a book for this month full of love.
As I have tested the game, believe me when I say this will be fun yet challenging. There is a spin on the questions’ wording, making it slightly challenging. While I am an avid book lover, I found myself struggling with a few of the questions. It is a competitive game that will make you click your screen faster just to win. You can also win Hershey’s Kisses if you are on the leaderboard. Only sign up once for these sessions, to not take others’ spots. We hope to see you there!
