To the excitement of many, the Fox Network announced the renewal of their hit animated comedies, The Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers. The network announced that the shows would have two more seasons each to be released on January 26. These renewals don’t come as a surprise to many, as the shows have each experienced their own success over the years, but especially as of late.
According to TVline, Family Guy will continue for a 23rd season, The Simpsons will continue to cement its legacy as the longest-running show on television with its’ 36th season and Bob’s Burgers will have a 15th season. Each of these shows has been on for well over ten years, with the youngest being Bob’s Burgers, which debuted in 2011. The Simpsons is the oldest by far, originally airing in 1989. Family Guy sits comfortably between these two, with its original air date having been in 1999. It can also be argued that Family Guy has had the rockiest past, experiencing two cancellations after only a few years, largely due to poor time slot placement by Fox. But, after these issues were worked out, the show has experienced years of success, with views staying reasonably consistent from season to season. All three of the shows have also found new life thanks to the internet and social media, with creators on platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts reposting minute-long clips of the show, bringing them to new audiences.
The renewal of Family Guy, The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers is exciting for many viewers, and will not only provide enjoyment and happiness for many, but will also most likely prove to be profitable for the Fox Network once again. Iconic titles like these three have won the hearts of viewers worldwide, and it’s nice to see Fox acknowledge this.
