Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a show that became popular this year for its more-than-obscure comedy. The show features a girl named Rebecca Bunch, who is madly in love with her ex-boyfriend, Josh Chan. Her obsession with him is so strong that when she hears he lives is West Covina, California she drops her high paying job in New York to follow Josh there.
Once settled into her new Californian residence, Rebecca begins pursuing her dreams of one day being Josh’s girlfriend and will stop at nothing order to be with him again. Rebecca develops and destroys many relationships in her pursuit at what she believes is the love of her life. The show includes a unique musical element in which many of the characters sing songs about their lives that are satirical and add humor to the events that unfold throughout the episodes.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is currently on its third season and those new to the series are in for many surprises along the way that will keep viewers on their toes. I name this T.V. series best of 2017 for its ability to make audience members want to laugh and cry at the same time. Its originality and adult humor make it a fun show to watch with older family members that can empathize with the crazy things love makes us do. After watching this series, I have truly come to understand what a crazy ex-girlfriend is and hope to never become one myself.
