Getting outdoors is extremely important to people’s physical and emotional well-being, and there are many hiking trails around the Raleigh area that provide beautiful walks surrounded by different woods and forests. There are numerous paths that surround this area, such as the Ravenridge Mountains to Sea Trail.
This trail goes around Falls lake, a large lake in the Raleigh area, and it provides well-kept footpaths that provide reasonable hikes for people of all ages. The trails create a backdrop of beautiful nature, without the strenuousness that other, more difficult hiking trails provide.
There are also multiple convenient places to park your vehicle. Hikers can park on the side of Raven Ridge road, or you can go a bit farther up the road to park at a second entrance point. The trail is around seven miles, and it isn’t necessary to hike the full length. It is also a great footpath for walking dogs, bringing children or hiking to a shaded fishing spot.
The tree coverage provides a lot of shade, making it a comfortable temperature during the summer months, and the trail remains unlittered with fallen branches or trees. If you want to enjoy nice weather on a great trail, I can’t think of a better place in Raleigh to do so.
