Chris Hemsworth
According to People Magazine, Chris Hemsworth was the sexiest man alive in 2014. This accolade aside, he is an amazing actor. In the seven years of his acting career, he has been awarded 14 different awards, has acted in 41 different movies, and has been a featured guest on 15 different shows. Most people know Hemsworth as Thor from the Avengers and characters from many other action-packed movies.
Unfortunately for large Hemsworth fans, he is taking a break due to his health. Hemsworth publically told the media that he suspects that he may have Alzheimer’s. Both of his parents have Alzheimer’s in their genes, so he decided to get tested, and the tests came back positive.
Although this is a huge deal, Hemsworth is taking it well because he can use the disease to show his fans that you can deal with anything. Now you may be wondering, why did he never say anything about this previously? Well, Hemsworth did not want to overdramatize his condition or be looked down upon.
Although you may not see Hemsworth on the big screen for a bit, he will be adventuring and living his life to the fullest with his family. If you love Hemsworth, don´t you worry because he will be back.
Kendrick Lamar
Very few artists can handle rapping about conscious topics such as race and poverty while also being commercially successful. Kendrick Lamar is one of the few to join that lucrative group of rappers with his most recent album “D*MN”. With his latest album, Lamar has cemented his status as one of the best rappers of this generation.
Despite the provoking nature of the album’s content and lyrics, it still rose to Number one on the Billboard Charts. Following the record’s release, Lamar came out with an electrifying performance of the new tracks off the album. The album is also Lamar’s third album to be nominated for multiple Grammys, such as Best Rap Album and Album of the Year.
Besides his contributions to hip-hop, Lamar is also a stand-up act. During a tour stop in Dallas, Texas, Lamar helped fund a quadriplegic fan’s GoFundMe page to help her get a new wheelchair accessible van.
Lamar had an excellent year and left his mark on 2017. He’s established himself as one of the greatest rappers of this generation and his album was the punctuation point to his legacy. Lamar still has plenty of great years left in him and I look forward to seeing what else he has in store.
