Reneé Rapp

“I can’t be everything to everyone,” are the first words listeners hear when they listen to Reneé Rapp’s new album, “Everything To Everyone.” However, Rapp was everything to everyone this year. Between all her projects, the impact that Rapp had in 2022 is undeniable.

Coming off of Broadway, Rapp was quickly cast in an HBO Max series, The Sex Lives of College Girls. Viewers fell in love with and related to her character, Leighton. Many people began following Rapp to keep up to date with all of her future projects. Her new, and growing, fanbase led to Rapp being able to kickstart her work in the music industry, something she has always wanted to do.

Rapp released her first single, “Tattoos,” in June, and people instantly became obsessed with this song while simultaneously being heartbroken by it. Rapp then went on to release “In The Kitchen,” which had a similar effect. This song started to show up everywhere on social media app TikTok as people recounted their old and recent heartbreaks.

The release of her EP, “Everything to Everyone,” gave people numerous more songs to relate to, dance to and cry to. With themes of heartbreak, mental health struggles and growing up, this EP is filled with songs for everyone. Rapp went on to perform the songs in sold out venues across many states.

These lyrics have aided people in feeling less alone, and were a healthy outlet for all the different feelings and experiences people went through this year.

Rapp has recently been cast in the Mean Girls musical movie where she will play the role of Regina George, as she did in Mean Girls on Broadway. Fans all over the world are highly anticipating when they will see Rapp reprising her iconic role.

Rapp has done many notable things throughout 2022 and has had an indisputable impact. Between a TV show, the release of a single and EP and her recent casting in the Mean Girls musical movie, it is undeniable to say that Rapp was kept busy throughout 2022 and has created many meaningful pieces of art that will continue to impact people.
