The Grand Tour
Thanks to the events of the last two years, television has played a huge role in many people’s lives. As a society, we sat at home in 2020 and 2021 thanks to the global pandemic and quarantine. But, in 2022, we saw change. Lockdowns eased up, and life returned as close to normal as it could. Things would never be the same, but, as a society, things got better. One thing has stayed constant though; the role of television in our society.
People have continued to enjoy television, and more shows have been made. One show that has made a difference in the lives of many is “The Grand Tour.” “The Grand Tour” is an automotive show hosted and held by three legends; Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. The chemistry between these three has given the show quite the cult following, and it’s easy to see why.
In 2022, only a single episode of “The Grand Tour” came out, called “A Scandi Flick.” This name is in reference to a maneuver in rally driving, called a Scandinavian Flick. The special takes place in the Scandinavian countries of Norway, Sweden and Finland as the trio uses cars with rally-racing heritage to race across the harsh conditions of these countries. Along the way, they take part in their fair share of challenges and shenanigans, which helps keep the episode mostly comedic. However, it also contains quite a few tense moments, mainly involving May’s car and some of the incidents he had along the journey.
As the trio gets older and older, the frequency of “The Grand Tour” episodes has fallen off significantly, which is a shame for viewers, as the show has been very entertaining throughout its entire span of five seasons. But, even though the episodes may only come out once or twice a year, they’ve never failed to provide an hour or so of entertainment for viewers worldwide. Sometimes only getting good things infrequently helps make them feel more special, and this holds true with “The Grand Tour.”
