Taylor Swift
It seems that every year, Taylor Swift ends up on The Howler’s list of ‘Best People of the Year.’ Yet, every year, it’s clear that she rightfully deserves her spot on that list. With 2022 beginning with yet another Grammy Album of the Year nomination for 2020’s “Evermore,” Swift got swiftly to work crafting her newest studio album: Midnights.
While Midnights, in itself, deserves its own rank on The Howler’s list of Best Album of 2022 -and trust, it will-, Swift’s dedication to producing catchy, beautiful, captivating lyrics reflects yet again in her recent album. Swift wrote, directed and starred in two of the music videos for the album, “Bejeweled” and “Anti-Hero,” and has many more music videos to release, following the announcement that Midnights will be a visual album. This means that all 13 tracks on the album will follow up with a music video.
But that’s not where it stops. Swift also starred as Elizabeth Meekins in David O. Russell’s recent comedy/drama film, “Amsterdam,” this year. In the film, Swift is amongst the group of friends that witness a murder and uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history. The film has gone on to receive critical acclaim, only adding to Swift’s plethora of success this year.
Finally, Swift received her honorary doctorate from New York University in May of this year. The honorary degree is in Fine Arts, which reflecting on her tremendous success this year, is a well-deserved title.
2022 was, yet again, a successful year for Dr. Swift. As 2023 takes place, it’s only fair to assume that this year will be another great year for Swift, and as her Eras Tour takes place throughout the summer, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for her.
