Amazon Prime Video’s original series “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” an adaption of Jenny Han’s novel of the same name, tells the story of one unforgettable summer in the life of Isabelle “Belly” Conklin, a 15-going-on-16-year-old-year-old girl played by Lola Tung. All of her life, she, her mother Laurel, played by Jackie Chung, and older brother Steven, played by Sean Kaufman, have spent the summer at the beach house of Laurel’s best friend, Susannah. Belly has secretly been in love with Susannah’s oldest son, Conrad, played by Christopher Briney. Susannah’s other son, Jeremiah, played by Gavin Casalegno, has always been the outgoing, fun one who always looks for a chance to swim or throw Belly in the pool, which he likes to call a “Belly Flop.”
“The Summer I Turned Pretty” is a cute, relatable, innocent, television series that can be exciting for all ages as they watch Belly tackle a romance triangle with two brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah.
