Most sports teams have one goal in mind, and that’s going to states and winning a championship. Head Coach Derin Vacca and the lacrosse team are no different. The team wants to take it all home this year, and they definitely have the opportunity to win with this fantastic 4-1 start to the season.

Cheerleading does not just involve waving pom poms around in the air while cheering on the sidelines at football and basketball games; it also involves dedication, hard work, time, and talent. The Wakefield High School varsity cheerleading team recently showed that they had all of that, including other challenging skills such as tumbling and jumps when they placed second at the Wake County Public School Varsity Cheerleading Competition on January 28th.

The indoor track and field team, along with Coach Ann Graham, are dedicated to their sport throughout the entire winter and diligently practice as much as possible. From working hard at practices each week to competing at meets throughout the season, the team constantly aims for faster times and higher scores.
