Bunny Michael becomes “Instagram’s Resident Therapist”

The best social media account of 2017 teaches self-love and healing in a world where we are surrounded by hate and pain. Bunny Michael is a musician, artist, and queer women of color. Her Instagram posts show her speaking to her “higher self”, or the better version of herself. Her unique style of memes has attracted over forty-thousand followers. She usually posts a picture of herself and her “higher self” in conversation. Her doubts and fears are shown being countered by the “higher self” who makes sure she is realizing her full potential. She began making the memes, which are short graphics, for herself as a way to cope.

“I started writing the Higher Self memes because I needed a creative outlet for all the emotional ups and downs,” Michael wrote in an Instagram post. Her post soon gained attention and began helping others. Her Instagram posts have been a very positive part of my day, and even though we are flooded by negativity, she’s helped her followers realize that we are the good in the world, a message that often escapes the media. The amount of popularity her page received allowed her to get her message out on a more wide scale. Now, she has her own book Me and #My Higher Self that follows the style of her Instagram posts. Me and #My Higher Self is sold on Amazon, and can be found in the bio of Michael’s Instagram page. Michael is the best social media account of 2017 because she posts positive and reassuring content that helps both her followers and herself.
