Levi Holland

There are thousands of idioms about art, such as ‘art is the window to the soul’ and ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ and everyday artists go out and live up to these sayings. Levi Holland, a junior, is one of those artists.

“I’ve always liked capturing moments as often as I can, but drawing was never really my thing,” Holland said. “Photography lets me do that in a way. [It’s] still art but [a version] I’m a lot better at.”

Back in 2020, Holland’s brother helped him find his love for photography by giving him a polaroid camera, and from there he’s absolutely flourished. In his photos, he loves to capture emotion.

“By far my favorite [type of] photograph are candids. Posing is fine, but I love capturing [the] raw emotion in someone’s laugh,” Holland said,  “[or] a flock of geese just minding their own business or something as simple as a small town church with an overgrown cemetery. I want to be able to photograph the world.”
