The softball team looks back on its win last year against Heritage and uses it as motivation to put up another big win this year.

“Last year, Heritage was very hype.  It was really intense, everyone wants to beat Heritage,” said senior Katie Gray.

Heritage possesses great talent, but Gray believes that this matchup will result in a win for the Wolverines.

“This year, they have a really good senior pitcher, but we’re going to bring home the W.”

Women’s Lacrosse:

Last year’s trip to the state playoffs led to the intense matchup between Hoggard and the Wolverines in the third round, which resulted in a Wakefield victory in overtime.

This year, the lady Wolverines look forward to taking on their rival Broughton and eventually making it back to the state playoffs.

“I think we’ll be competitive for sure, and I think we’ll win,” said Hannah Emerson.

against Heritage proved to be the most exciting matchup for the baseball team last year.

“The biggest game was against Heritage at home last year,” said Alex Fernandez.   “It was a great game.”

This season’s matchups against Heritage and Leesville will be the must-see games, according to Fernandez.

“I think it’s going to be a great game this year,” said Fernandez.

Men’s Tennis:

The men’s tennis team sets their bar high looking back on the motivating wins such as the Millbrook match during last year’s season.

“The match against Millbrook was big for us,” said senior Bo Boyden. “We played the twice in conference and then we beat them in the regional finals.”

This season the Wolverines plan to continue their winning tradition and continue the intense Wakefield, Millbrook rivalry.

“They’re saying we’re the two best teams in the state right know so our match will be a good match for sure,” said Boyden.

Women’s Soccer:

The women’s soccer team prepares for their battle against rivalry, Millbrook, heading into the new season using last year’s big win as motivation.

“The Millbrook game last year was an away game and we won in the last six minutes,” said senior Kat McDonald.

The Millbrook game will game this year will be a close one, but Kat McDonald remains confident.

Men’s Lacrosse:

The Men’s lacrosse team is counting down the minutes until they get to go head to head again against Millbrook.

“Whenever we play them it’s a close game,” said senior Andrew Lem. “Luckily we came out on time both in both games.”

The Millbrook game is a must-see for this season and the Wolverines expect to come out on top once again.

“We lost a lot of people from last year but I think we’ve got what it takes,” said Lem.
