Black Student Union

All responses by Deziree Baker, Black Student Union Advisor

Q: How can students join Black Student Union?

A: There is an Instagram, Twitter, and Remind with information on meetings.

Q: What do students do within the club?

A: We’re a social and safe space to talk about issues dealing with the African American community, opportunities for outreach, etc.

Q: What are some perks of being in the Black Student Union?

A: You get to build community with like-minded people, it’s engaging and laid back but we still talk about serious topics. It’s a good opportunity to share your thoughts and have conversations.

Q: What are some of the Black Students Unions’ goals for students?

A: We want students to be more aware of what’s happening around them. We want to spread awareness. Last year we talked about mental health and highlighting the success within the community. We also want to be more involved in outreach and reaching the community outside of Wakefield.
