What are you majoring in?

Math education.

What prompted you to become a teacher? I really like being around people and I enjoyed math through school. I figured teaching math would be a great way to make an impact on kids and be involved with math at the same time.

How has this experience affected your desire to teach?

It’s given me an opportunity to see what teaching really is like. It’s a lot harder than I thought it would be. You have a ton of different things to think about, what you want to teach, your lessons, what the students will ask, make sure you’re doing the problems on the board correctly, and it’s really tiring. It’s fun though, and I like being here.

What’s your favorite experience with the students here at Wakefield?

Having students come in during SMART lunch and just helping students individually.
